Subject: [Sentoa] VDO tach-hour meter problems
We had the exact same problem on our tug 32-101. The mechanical hour meter failed after about 1500 hours. The tach still worked properly. We replace the unit with a new VDO unit from Cummins but the new one has an electronic hour meter. The diameter of the unit is slightly smaller than the original but fits in the same space. It looks good and works well. If you need exact model or part numbers, I can get them for you next time I’m on the boat. Let me know.
