I use Micron CSC and have Cap Sante apply two coats.  A third around the scum line.
I use a barnacle spray paint made by Pette for the running gear.

I occasionally wash the water line throughout the summer

I dive and change the zincs once a year.

I get four years and have gotten five years between paintings/haulouts

Subject: [Sentoa] Bottom Paint

I am a new Nordic Tug owner.  I purchased at 32 NT June, 08 and the bottom needs to be painted.  I looked at the list serve and most people seem to use Micron CSC.  I called Cap Sante , in Anacortes and they said one coat would be sufficient.  They also gave me a choice of Micron CSC or Interlux Micron Extra for about $100.00 more.

I also called Nordic who recommended one coat if using the Extra, but two with the Micron CSC.  They indicated that they like to have their owners haul once a year for general maintenance.

So, my question for today is “one or two coats and which paint”??  Also, what else should I be looking at/doing when she is out of the water.  Thanks so much.
