Dear Bruce and all,
Yes, i am interested in seeing a pic or two. Please send to
jhebda at vrs.us.com.
Refurbishing of the outside hull from the water line up to the gunnel is
scheduled
next (09-10 layup) for Water Horse. This work will include replacement of all
 the
trim and rub rails, and a gleaming paint job. Our rub rails are in poor
condition
now but we didn't know there may be hidden nightmares behind them!

Also we would like to go to a slightly larger, more resilient material for
the rub rails,
as the OEM materials seemed too be stiff plastic, giving little forgiveness
against a
dock or lock wall. We saw a boat with real stout rubber rub rails, and the
skipper
told me they were from Johnson Rubber. Anybody have any ideas?

We are currently having our Tug 32-115 repaired in Solomons for water leaks
from under the top starboard rub rail. We had a small leak that we couldn't
find. After being caught in 10 foot (crest to trough) waves the leak was
much worse. When the rub rail was removed, and it broke into sections when
taken off, there was a crack where the hull and topside was joined. It was close
to 20 feet long. there were no screws between hull and topside. I think
Nordic Tug is doing that now. Our repair will be screws every 8 inches,
countersunk, glassed over and non skid put down.

Just some infor on what we found when the rub rail was lifted. If desired I
can send photos of the crack.
