Interesting problem, we have never had an issue either with our tug or with
a prior sailboat.
How about getting the manufactures name off the sniffer and calling them?
Also, are you certain you don't have a leak? Our propane system has a gauge
near the tank. On a regular basis, I turn off the propane valve at the tank
and check to make sure the system pressure does not drop on the gauge. The
system should hold pressure for hours.
We have had problems with the shutoff solenoid sticking open. My wife has
the routine of turning off the gas valve switch before turning off the stove
knob and then watching to make sure the flame goes out. When the solenoid
acts up, the flame size reduces, but never completely goes out.
Alternatively, when working properly, the flame goes out immediately when
the switch is opened.
