We've had Seastar for a little over 3-years. After quite a bit of shopping,
a NW insurance broker hooked us up with an outfit called Zurich Ins. We
have paid about $1,000 per year, gradually increasing to just under $1,300
per year on a 99 model vessel valued around $185k. We are limited to 25
miles offshore, and to the Northern tip of Vancouver Island (inside passage)
at that price. I suspect the big deal is not being in an area subject to
tropical storms. Of course, we seem to have lots of mist that dilutes the
corrosive effects of residue left by dive-bombing Seagulls.
