[Sentoa] Steering failure

I recently had the hydraulic steering fail as a result of a connector coming
apart. When I went to the local Telefex dealer/repairman he said the
plumbing on my boat was undersized. The plastic Parker tubing on the boat is
rated at 650 psi while the Capilano helm pumps require 1000 psi plumbing. In
addition the system is connected by ring type compression fittings that are
inadequate for this application in his opinion. Nordic Tug has built at
least 100 boats like mine and more the 600 of other sizes so I suspect there
is some experience among the owners with the frequency of this kind of
failure. This repairman wants the order of $3,500 to install a "proper"
system. Is this necessary? Your thoughts and experience will be appreciated.
