Hi,
Our previous boat 32-137 did not have a bock heater and I installed one.
To remove the frost plug I drilled a hole in it sized to fit a large self
tapping bolt (1/4 inch or larger as I recall). After screwing the bolt part
way in I used a large claw bar to pull the plug out.

Subject: [Sentoa] Installing a block heater
Cooler weather is approaching and I'm considering installing a block
heater on "John Forrest's" 220 Cummins. This requires removing one of
the "freeze plugs" on the starboard side of the engine block. Has
anyone performed this operation? Any special tools or technique
involved? Should I enlist the services of a mechanic or should it be
simple enough? Thanks
