Digital signals are the same frequencies as analog, so no special antennas are required.
We have a Radio Shack Omnidirectional antenna (about $60) which works well. It comes with an amplifier (low drain). They have a similar Unidirectional antenna, but this is no good when you are on the hook.
This is a relatively small light unit, about 18 inches in diameter, which we mount on a 4 foot - 1 inch PVC pipe on the cabin deck so it has an unobstructed view. We take it down when underway, though it is weatherproof and could be mounted on a mast.
We had excellent results up and down the ICW either in town or on the hook.
