Mark,
If you have a B series Cummins engine:
You really should have the MidRange Performance Tool Kit from Cummins, pn 3399869, if you want to do an engine tune-up - adjusting the valves.
This kit is discontinued by Cummins and no longer available from them, but I got one a while ago by searching the Internet. The original price was about $100 from Cummins. I got it for about $ 50 on the internet and there were still some kits available.
If you cannot find any more of the MidRange Performance Kits, the essential tool in there is the Barring Tool which should be available from Cummins, pn 3377371.
Also handy to have would be the 6 in-lb torque wrench for the tappet screw adjustment, Cummins pn 3376592, available from Cummins, I believe.

Subject: [Sentoa] What is the ideal set of "spares" to have on board a NT 37
Hello Tug Family
My wife and I just purchased a used 37 here in the Northwest. We have been boaters for a number of years but on older woody trawlers that had much simpler systems. My kit if you will included a few box wrenches and sockets along with extra racors, water pump impeller , extra bilge pump and extra fresh water pump.
If you were putting together a must have list for "spares" for a low hour 37 or any 37 what would be on it besides fuel filters and oil filters and water pump impeller? Please mention any special tools that have been helpful.
Thanks much
Mark A Hall
