If you have the standard thruster that came with the boat, I would bet that it is a 6hp which is what was standard when I ordered my boat. I thought that until recently, the factory used Sidepower thrusters and I don't recall Sidepower making a 7hp but I could be wrong. We had the factory install a Sidepower 8hp which is essentially the same Sidepower unit as the 6hp with a larger motor. As a result of the larger motor it requires a larger battery and I think that the cables may even be bigger. It works fine and we have had no issue with it at all. I always felt that 6hp was a bit underpowered given the weight of a fully loaded, cruise ready 37, especially when you are dealing with wind or current which is the time when you really want the thruster to have some oomph. I don't really know how to compare the 6 and the 8 other than to say that the 8 works real well even in Essex, where as you know, the currents run pretty hard. I have not been in a situation where I wanted more than 8hp.

I hope you are selling to upgrade. I am not at all satisfied with my 7HP bow thruster. I can upgrade to the 8HP with no major modifications. Can you give me a sense of the difference.

North Star, our 2005 NT37, is for sale. Since NT owners are the best sales people for these wonderful boats, we have a proposal for all of you. If you know of someone who might be interested in the boat, drop us an e-mail and let us know who they are. Have them get in touch with us and we will pass their information on to Connie Connor, our broker at Wilde Yachts. If the person you pass on to us purchases North Star, we will send you a check for $2,000 as a finders fee immediately after closing.
North Star is a very special boat and is bargain priced. It is an All Climate, 2 stateroom boat with an Arista Blue Awlgrip hull with a Vivid Red stripe, Stidd Chair at the helm, Baltic Blue UltraLeather, QSB 380 electronic engine which only became standard for 2006 boats, teak and holly throughout, Nick Jackson 650 pound low profile electric davit, Avon 310 RIB with a 15HP Yamaha electric start four stroke, standard air conditioning plus an Espar D12 diesel furnace (43,000 Btu), all windows and doors are thermopane, AGM batteries and 2000 watt inverter, bow pulpit with dual rollers, upgraded 8hp bow thruster, extra factory sound deadening plus professionally modified chines to reduce bow slap with spray rails added, combo washer drier, awesome, redundant, high end electronics, custom folding mast and even Kahlenberg dual air horns. Anyone who has seen the boat will confirm that it is pristine and better than new. We have just lowered the price to $425,000 which is a huge bargain as the boat has a replacement cost of $630,000+. At this price, and with the features that this boat has, it would even make sense to truck it across the country.
For more details on the boat, check out the YachtWorld Listing. Since the URL is extremely long, go to www.yachtworld.com and search for 37 foot Nordic Tugs. You can’t miss the blue and red one listed by Wilde Yachts for $425,000.
If anyone has questions about the boat or its features or wants more details, feel free to e-mail us and we would be delighted to share the information or send pictures.
