[Sentoa] Volvo D6 280hp

Hello Folks-
First time post here.
We're seriously thinking of 'mortgaging the farm' and going for a new 2008 NT32. My concern is the Volvo D6 engine that now comes with the new models. I've been reading and talking with people regarding these engines, some say their great (no smoke, low vibration, fairly economical, quiet etc.) others say "Watch out for Volvo, their parts are way too expensive."  Does anyone here have any comment on the new Volvo D6 engine? Might we be smarter looking for a 2-3 yr. old NT32 with the Cummins 270?
