[Sentoa] Wheelhouse window leaks

Just an added suggestion....warm up the caulk a little either in the sun or in hot water first. This will help it get in deeper. I have also put the chaulk in a plastic medical syringe with a large bore needle (8 to 10 guage). Heat the syringe a little and so the caulk will thin out enough to get though the needle.
Good luck,

Jack, I too have had a leak on the center window and it has stopped for the last two years, this is what I did. First with masking tape both on the glass and on the fiberglass (on the out side) using wide tape made a clean and straight edge all around the window. Using a good quality calk  ( I used DAP premium elastomeric latex sealant, good for 50 yrs.from any hardware store) and than pushed it into the seam with my finger, any mistakes can be cleaned up with water. You can make a clean smooth finish with a wet finger using this type of sealant, & it remains flexible.

On the inside of the window I removed the rubber seal and found that the glass was only about 1/8 of an inch over the metal frame with plenty of room to go further which would give more support for the glass. I believe the glass might have flexed when hit with very hard spray because it never leaked when washing the boat. I than took some 1/2 inch Poly Foam calk saver (by Frost King which is used to seal large gaps in windows & doors at home )pushing it in all around the glass using as much as I could fit in (never breaking the original seal at any time or removing the glass). Than came the hard part of forcing the rubber gasket back in, this put pressure on the glass against the frame where before there was very, very little. Bottom line it worked!  Just another idea for you to consider. Good luck!

It appears that two of my front wheelhouse windows are leaking.  I can see the stains on the interior paneling. I also now have long trickles of dried brown liquid, perhaps adhesive, on the bulkheads on either side of the stateroom bunk.  My guess is that rain is working its way past the window moldings and removing adhesive on the way.

Any thoughts or suggestions?  Also, any suggestions on what's best to remove the bulkhead stains?
