What anchor windlass did you purchase? I too am planning to add a windlass to my NT. Looking at the Lewmar Pro Series Pro-fish 1000.

Subject: [Sentoa] Anchor Windlass on a 26

I'm in the process of installing a powerwinch on Tugaloo.
I'm making a block out of 9 pieces of seven ply 3/4 inch plywood to mount the windlass high enough for the rode to be about level from the windlass to the bow roller.
I will assemble the block a layer at a time, drilling the mounting, rode, and electrical holes as I go. I will taper the forward side of the block to fit the inside of the raised portion of the bow.
After sanding and fitting the block to the bow,
I will cover the entire block with resin, then gell coat it.
Long stainless rods will secure the block and windlass to the bow deck after liberal caulking with either 4200 or silicone.
or maybe a bedding compound between the block and the deck.

I purchased the windlass and a wireless remote from turtlemarine.com. they have some good prices.
I will run the 8 AWG wire from the bowthruster wire terminals under the forward bunk with the breaker and wireless control box near the thruster. I hope the wireless signal willl be strong enough to work.

I would like opinions from anyone as to whether this approach will work, or suggestions for improvement.

Thanks in advance,

Bob Wiggins
