[Sentoa] bilge access

Good Morning,
When I had a bow thruster installed on my 32, I had the yard "foam" (closed cell flotation) in the dead area under the "v" berth and bathroom. This eliminated a possible (calculated) 600 to 700 pounds of water in the bow if that totally inaccessible area ever flooded (like if I hit something). It also had the unexpected benefit of deadening the bow slap while at anchor and underway. It did not add much weight to the bow and only cost a couple of hundred dollars since I had the thruster tube opening there at the time anyway. Luckily I haven't hit anything (yet??), but my feeling is that I have added to the general strength of the bow area.

Folks,
Finally nice enough to actually work on the boat, getting her ready for launch.

In the process of doing some plumbing, we discovered that there was no access
to the bilge area beneath the "v" berth and bathroom. We are adding a removable
hatch in the floor. Once cut open we discovered about a foot of really yucky water,
up to 10 gallons. This is a totally boxed in area of the forward keel, from the point
of the bow to a sealed bulkhead, the forward wall of the engine compartment.
Now that we can get in there, ventilation and cleaning will be a great improvement.

Anyone else discover this hidden dungeon?
