[Sentoa] 26' Repower

"Sunrise" 26 has its original Yanmar 100 turbo engine which cruises 
at 7-8.5 knots (2000-2500 RPM ) and can easily go to 10 knots.  It 
averages under 1.5 gallons an hour.  My opinion is that diesels 
should be run at a reasonably high RPM most of the time or they are 
ruined.  An engine should last for 12-15,000 hours with normal 
maintenance.  I would not  dream of using this setup for fishing. 
Mounting an outboard  gas engine for strolling or using a different 
boat for fishing would be indicated,
