Thanks for the test process suggestion on the windshield wiper that stays 
on.  It does switch off for the first few minutes, but fails to switch off 
after the motor warms up.  When I replaced the wiper switch, I did make sure 
we were switching the positive red wire.  I assumed positive was red, but 
remember the words of a famous philosopher: "Assumption is the mother of all 
screwups."

I will go through the test process with the VOM and see where we are.
