The Stolkraft by Harbor master is basically a lake and river houseboat. It has the tri hull foreward and twin hulls aft, which I suspose catagorize it as a cat...but with the HP and size, windage, fuel (range), its use would be limited. I would not consider it at all "seaworthy". Having said that, I have seen Harbor Master vessels (large windows, with large upper cabin houses, do the "loop". So if you watch the weather for the Great Lakes and the big bend area of Florida, you probably could do the Loop.

I would not choose one for that. You would have to see some actual fuel curves to know its effeciency....but I suspect that a diesel trawler would be much more economical and seaworthy.

I have owned a smaller tri hull, and it was one of the worst "slamming" boats I ever owned. Maybe in small seas at higher speeds with the size of the boat it would be "OK"...but not a boat to take to the Bahamas or Caribbean--ever!
