We have Volvo Penta D6 310's which give us a top speed of 26 knts at
best 
and we cruise normally at 15-20 knts depending on conditions of course.
We 
have certainly been out in some quite uncomfortable weather over the last
18 months and the boat has always felt safe, solid and able to cope - my 
wife
less so!
