[PCW] Volvo IPS

Hi George

I am investigating to put Volvo IPS 400 on my next 48 footer.We have sent
the plans to Volvo to acquire the necessary specs from them. It seems that
for this to work the hull has to be a planning hull and to get the best
result we have to fit foils on the boat.The present boat we are building
will have foils and seems it will lift the boat at 15 knots. So clearly it
will ensure better fuel consumption.We will however also do trails without
them to see the affect that the foils do have and also what increase in
speed we will get.
