Dear Bob,

I have to agree with your comments on continually immersed stern drives. We do
not recommend their use in that situation. And, as you point out, it is very
difficult to get big enough diameter propellers turning slowly enough for
maximum efficiency. There are some commercially orientated stern legs that
might be a better choice than the Mercruiser drives in this application but
the corrosion problems still exist.
