[PCW] PCB Trawler Catamaran 45

Roger Jacob had inquired about the catamaran I am having built by Pacific
Coast Boats (PCB) in Toledo, Oregon and why there had not been many updates
on its construction lately.  I will be happy to respond although please
understand that I have just returned from two weeks in the African bush and
am still a little jet lagged.

 

First let me say that I find this list quite informative, even though some
weeks find more builders and brokers than actual boaters.  If I'm not
mistaken, I believe that Roger is among those builders and brokers.

 

The project has indeed suffered somewhat of a delay.  First and foremost
that delay was initially caused by friction within the partnership of PCB.
While one partner felt I should abandon the original contract and follow him
to an unknown builder for and unknown amount of money to complete the boat,
the president of PCB has bent over backwards to honor the contract and
finish the boat as agreed.  During this partnership spat I agreed that PCB
could finish a 58-ft motorsailer that the owner originally intended to
finish out himself.  That also added to the delay.

 

Meanwhile the boat, the Double-Wide, is back on schedule for completion this
spring along with a 65-ft version that is also under contract to PCB.  I
have updated a few pictures and promise that I will provide more quite soon.
However, I do need to get caught up with a little of my own work.
