David,
I endorse the view that the Northern route may appear appealing but there are sound reasons why it is rarely taken. Bermuda to the Azores in June, the normal time when the Azores High sits over that part of the Atlantic would be my preferred option as it is for 95% of those crossing from the US to Europe. That's the route that the NAR took in 2004 and Med Bound in 2006, and that the Sinks took as well as Resolution (Andy Lund), both N46s.

David: This route is the northern route so your time window is very  
important. I would also study the pilot charts for that time frame referring to  
winds and ice periods. The southern routes are longer but safer in my
