The single most helpful thing I could have done to make our Seattle to
Boston trip more enjoyable was have a way to carry the dingy on the
back of the boat and make it really easy to launch.  There were a
number of times that the thought of lifting it up in the air and
dropping it in the water kept me from doing it.  Don't get me wrong, I
really like being at sea with it on the boat deck, but I would have
done a lot more putting around and fishing had it been on a swim step
with a Weaver Davit.  I'm sure there were a few times I'd have
anchored out rather than taken a dock space as well.  The problem is
the transom of the Nordhavn 40 has enough curve to it that I would
have had to install a swim step and that was cost prohibitive.  In
summary, an easy to launch dingy is very valuable!
