[PUP] Changing Horses

I've put plans for my next boat on hold for a bit and have decided on 
an interim adventure. I'm developing a route to fly around the world 
in a small four seat aircraft, with my wife as co-pilot. The route 
will encompass about 22 countries and will take 3-4 months in a 
Mooney Ovation GX2.

My wife had just finished sailing around the world when I met her and 
I had done 25.000 miles in a 68' Defever. In the intervening 21 years 
we've done a lot of sailing in both power and sail. I've been a 
casual pilot for 36 years and this sounds like a great new adventure 
with a different perspective. Accelerated, perhaps, but in many ways 
I get the same feeling on a long cross country flight that I do on a 
long ocean passage. And like many trips the longest passage is Hawaii 
to the West Coast. The last time I did it, it took 13 days. This time 
it will be about 13 hours.
