[PUP] Open owner's sites and particitation (or not) in the PUP community

To Ken's point, Nordhavn(PAE) has never sponsored or taken any kind of
leadership role in the owners lists. It appears, as was once described
to me, that it is company policy to NOT sponsor such lists so as to
ensure a free flow of information and avoid implicit or explicit
filtration of any kind.

There are several such lists, a main one open to all boat owners and
company employees and management, and then some others that are
specific to certain models.

Notably, at least one of those model-specific lists does not invite
owners or employees of PAE (nor in general any industry providers)
access either. Strictly an owners exchange.

The discussion of opening the lists is pretty much an annual event and
can become quite spirited. Yet in every case, the majority of owners
vote NO.

Nordhavn has no say in that discussion.

The most common argument is to keep the noise level down and keep the
Nordhavn-specific technical level as high as possible.

Bottom line, right or wrong... the fact that the lists remain closed
is not a reflection of the company but of the boat owners who own the
lists.
