Hi Tad,

I have always been under the impression that Brewer's Comfort Factor is
based on sailboat hulls. Can you actually take a trawler hull and use Ted's
formula to get a good comparison to a sailboat? Or is there a different formula
to compare trawler hulls?

On Brewer's webpage, he states: "The intention is to provide a means to
compare the motion comfort of vessels of similar type and size..." As an
example, I offer the 126' John Alden design displacing 380,000 lb. This yacht has a
comfort factor of 67.5 Somehow, this does not square up with your example of
"a Diesel Duck 462 is 67.8..."

Regards,

John
