All hands!

Drew Gardenier has started building Hooligan, a George Buehler
Ellemaid design, at a yard in Turkey with a launch expected near the
end of this year.

Once Hooligan is in the water, Drew will be taking the boat home to
Singapore. Routing for the delivery will be Izmir - Port Said - Suez
Canal - Red Sea - Djibouti - Sri Lanka - Phuket - Singapore. Drew
explains:

"A mate of mine will be skippering the total delivery as he moves
racing sailboats between Australia and Asia and Asia and the Med, he
reckons mine might be a little more comfortable. The Insurance
company is demanding competent crew of four to issue the trip
insurance. The pro skipper carries one full time assistant and the
other two usually casual.

"I will be in Izmir for the commissioning and then miss the canal -
red sea run, (been there, done that). I will be joining the boat in
Sri Lanka for the last three weeks of a 6 or 7 week delivery.

"Nothing is totally definite yet but there should be crew slots open
for 2 or 3 folks from Izmir to Said through the red sea- Indian
ocean, Galle - Phuket- Singapore. We would prefer people who are a
bit salty and who definitely understand what 6 weeks to weather is
all about. We kind of figure this is an experience cruise, so
basically anyone who wants the experience will get fed extremely well
on the trip and get a ride on what we figure is going to be a great
boat. The ocean work may be a little rough but the Turkey side to
Said will be nice and Galle - Phuket should be pretty decent also,
Phuket to Singapore is easy and pretty nice also."
