The pump Scott was referring to is the Ericson Safety Pump.  See
http://www.pumpitout.nf.ca/ for more info.  There are four sizes, which
depending on your shaft size, shaft RPM, and head are claimed to pump anywhere
from 4800 GPH to 75,000 GPH.

I have one onboard SOLARA, but until I actually install it it probably won't
do me much good!  And yes, the shaft does have to be turning.

| a link?  It sounds like you'd have to be underway (prop shaft turning) for
| this to work -  is that right?
