Did you miss me? After four months, Flat Earth has returned to
Hawaii. Flat Earth is a Nordhavn 50. We left Oahu on April 16 bound
for French Polynesia. We stopped by Palmyra Atoll, the largest atoll
in in the US inventory. Then we stopped at Christmas Island to refuel
before continuing on to Tahiti. We spent about two months in the
Society Islands of Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. We then spent about
one month in the Tuamotu atolls of Rangiroa, Fakarava, and Manihi.
Then we continues up to the North East to the Marquesas staying in
Nuku Hiva for about three weeks before departing back for Hawaii. We
made landfall here on Oahu yesterday after a 2200 NM passage from the
Marquesas in just a couple of hours under 14 days. I just came back
from taking my best mate out to dinner to celebrate a successful
passage. While she didn't make the passage down, she met us in
Papeete shortly after we arrived and stayed with Flat Earth until our
arrival back in the good ol' US of A.
