Keith observed: I'd buy it. I'm a bit disappointed to see Krogen going to
twin engines, but I
guess that's what the marketplace wants.
Scott suggests: That's not what the marketplace wants. The Cabrillo, a
boat marketed in the NW tried the twin game and the sales team was told over
and over and over customers wanted a single. At some point a twin probably
makes sense, but in that size boat I don't see why. On the other hand we
found out how challenging a "get someplace" wing engine can be trying to
maintain steerage in a following sea. It's something to practice and that's
a scary thought.
I'd be interested to hear if they will build more than a few a year. Also
some specifics about hull being cored or not would be nice. If Krogen does
as nice as they do with all their other boats, they will attract customers.
Re-sale should be good as all Krogen owners know.
Competition amongst the premier production builders is always good. If
Nordhavn would loose a few sales maybe they would start to treat their
customers like customers rather than a privileged few that "get" to buy
their boats.
