[PUP] Transporting gasoline

The story of the fire on the T&T list got me thinking about transporting
gasoline for my 2 stroke tender motor.  I was simply going to have a 2.5
gallon plastic container lashed to the boat deck railing, but now I'm
wondering if this isn't the best idea.  What do voyagers do to transport
fuel?  Certainly it's only stored outside, never someplace fumes could
collect (like a deck box or locker).  Have any good containers been found?
