I can't testify to the 1 1/2" line but I do know that it will dispose of a
1" 3 strand brand new nylon towing line on a tender. We have the two shorter
pieces of line to prove it and a new towing line!
I don't expect it to cut industrial trawling gear or towing hawsers nor
cable. However it is nice to not have to go overboard for the more common
stuff that we are likely to encounter.
I cannot say what we ran over but I can say that it was something large
enough to bring down the engine RPM and that it cleared in a few seconds.
Did the razor do it or were we lucky? We'll never know but as I say the
razor was shiny when we checked it a day after the incident as was the prop
hub. So it appears that something did wrap and it appears that it was pulled
over the razor and it appears that it was cut and I know it was gone.
So we may have a $350 placebo, we may have more snake oil or we may have
dark chocolate ;-)
As always YMMV,
Cheers
