I'll add only one entry to Peter's and Patrick's list, from personal 
experience:

 	Crew compatability (or lack thereof)

It's hell to discover a crew member has no business being on your boat 
when you're several hundred miles away from anywhere!  Heck, we didn't 
even have a deserted island on which to maroon the jerk!  :)

PS  I know of at least one other Cheoy Lee LRC that has joined the 
Nordhavn's in crossing oceans.  Yup, you hear about the Nordhavn's, but 
the Cheoy Lee's do it, too.
