Catamarans suck

They are ugly

They don't fit in slips well

They pound in beam seas

They can't be driven by a single engine efficiently

They have terrible sleeping accommodations

Every single one I've been on has had more knee knockers and odd spaces so
the entire thing felt unusable
(can you do the testicular tuck when using the head?)

They are unconventional, so the resale marketplace is automatically limited
to less potential buyers

Yes, the do some thing well, better than a monohull, but all in all the
package is completely uninteresting to me and almost everyone I talk to.

If we want to talk about motorsailers, the Island Packet and Nordhavn
platforms look very interesting. I was on the Island Packet (www.ipy.com)
at the winter Seattle show and it's beautiful. Now, I'm not sure of the
economics of paying for sales and a motor, but there would appear to be some
advantages.

Sorry if I seem distraught. Part of it is brought on by the shameless
advertising for multihull forms in the guise of a PUP discussion.

At least this is how I see it.
