[PUP] Internet Sources of Maps, books, etc.

Hi Everyone,
I've recently started using the peer to peer file sharing utility called
Emule that is available for free download here:
http://www.emule.com/
Once you download the emule software, you can then access millions of files
that are being shared by the tens of millions of people who have the
software already.
I've found that there are a ton of software packages and mapping packages
(e.g. MaxSea, Garmon, Emap, Cmap, Fugawi, Maptech, Magellan, Navionics, etc)
for virtually all areas of the world. There are also many books and
magazines related to yachts, sailing, etc. Many in different languages too.
I get the feeling that the sharing of these files may not be totally legal,
but the files are all there for the download. While I wouldn't actually
download these for true use - I'm thinking that it might be valuable as an
opportunity to try before I buy. Does anyone have any experience with these
files from Emule? If you do try it - I'd love to hear people's results.
I currently don't have any mapping software system, but I'd like to learn,
and I'm wondering if this will work.
Any thoughts or input greatly appreciated,
Brian.
