[PUP] Voyaging and insurance at home, unexpected consequences

Anytime you get an email from your house/auto/boat insurance company
that starts out:

Dear Mr. Bulger, Upon review of your account we can no longer offer
coverage on your blah blah blah.  The reason?  "Because you will no
longer be living in the state".

I guess I didn't give a lot of thought to the issue because I have
sold the house a car and fully intend to sell the remaining truck
prior to leaving in mid August.  It just caught me by surprise that:

a.	They (the insurance company) made the determination I was leaving
the state and took this action with no interaction with me.  I wasn't
called, asked for details or departure plans, simply told that on
these dates my coverage would cease.
b.	They are canceling my boat (31 Camano currently for sale), House
(sold, closes on the 19th) and cars (sold one today, selling the truck
in a few weeks).
c.	The only way the insurance company could have come to this
conclusion is based on conversations I had with my agent, where I
loosely described our plans.

Again, for me this isn't an issue, at least not a big issue.  But, had
I hoped to keep a car and garage it with a family member, or had the
house sale not been complete, I would have been in a world of hurt.  I
would have gone ahead and left with the house on the market and a
family member having power of attorney to sign any house sale or
closing documentation.

In summary, those of you planning on departing for extended cruises,
be very careful about your assumptions about assets left behind,
especially if there is an insurance company involved.
