Hi Peter,

I have lived in Singapore for 11 years and have made at least 30 trips thru the Indonesian Island on my own and friends boats. I had no problems what so ever.

There is approx 150 boats on the darwin / bali / langkawi rally this year...

no life threatening problems... a few stolen fishing rods and outboards perhaps so in someways there are similarities to the ICW...

You can also have a look on the ssca website to see what problems boaters face

Peter you wrote "I am sick of the press distorting the known dangers, and I'm sick of dreamers not doing their bloody homework." on this part i totally agree with you.

BTW register your EPIRB with the Australia Govt if cruising in S/E Asia
