Arrived 2 days ago from Hokkaido. Calm trip all the way up, 25 knots on the beam for one day, east of Kamchatka. Otherwise conditions could not have been better. We are waiting for a storm to move east, then we jump in behind and head out for Kodiak and points south.

The Elbow Room is the wildest place here. In the old days you fought your way IN and fought your way out, if conscious. There are pill boxes and bunkers all over the hills above us. The eagles roost on the mast tops. Pity the mast tops.
