In some marinas the money goes into a "pump out jar" and is split up as
bonus money for the people who handle that job. That's why you see smiling
faces when they ask, "Want to pump out?"

I can see a nominal charge of $5.00 , because they to maintain the  
equipment , but $10.00 is way to much !

Just an FYI as you head  through this part of the river systems.  Found

yesterday  that Grand Harbor Marina charges $10.00 for a pump out if you  
don't  stay with them.  Aqua Yacht is still a free pump out whether you

with them or not.  It's really too bad that some marinas  have to  charge 
for 
pump outs, you would hope they would promote  pumping out by offering  that 
service for no charge.
