Randy and List:
I, too, often hear that question asked. And my curiosity got the
best of me, so I asked Janice Kromer, Executive Director of America's
Great Loop Cruisers Association (AGLCA).
While there are folks who do the Loop and don't join AGLCA or don't
notify Janice of their accomplishment, Janice estimates some 75 boats
complete the Loop each year. Like CCRider, some take a long time to
do it. The AGLCA has around 2000 active memberships, with most
membership comprising a couple, so about 4000 Loopers. Since the
AGLCA was formed, there have been about 7000 total memberships.
So there you have an educated estimate from someone who deals in the
numbers daily.
