This incident is a cold reminder of the importance of BACKING UP your
data and documents OFF YOUR COMPUTER. A good simple solution is an
external USB drive. Every once in a while make a CD and mail it to a
relative for safe keeping. You don't want your backup and primary data
kept in the same location. If you do, in the event of a catastrophic
failure (such as fire or water damage) you will lose BOTH.

I had to reformat hard drive to remove the infection received from
access the site...  I own a product from them.  Whether from the site or
not after the access all stopped on PC.  Online geek help spent 8 hours
trying to remove infection prior to the reformat and all software
reinstall.  My prior antivirus was a "trend" subscription with daily
updates and scan.  I am now using CA hopefully for better results. Joe

Same with me except I was allowed to sever connection with the website.
Exchanged emails with the owner and he told me that his host and ISP
were very secure. I have their book and would like to visit their
website, but will no longer try to do so. Has anybody with a different
virus checker had a different experience. One thing I like about Avast!
is that they update up to 4 times a day!

When I clicked on the managingthewaterway dot com I instantly got a
nasty virus that sent the AVASTI virus checker ballistic with bells and
warnings... 
It also blocked my attempts to 3 finger salute it forcing me to pull the
plug to shut the PC down... A word of warning to the wise...
