GL: Charting

The official chart source for the Inland Waterways are Inland
Electronic Navigation Charts (IENCs) produced by the US Army Corps of
Engineers.

They are free (or can be purchased inexpensively on DVDs from
certified electronic chart distributors).

Unfortunately, only a few e-charting applications support this free
government cartography:

For PC
Coastal Explorer
Fugawi Marine ENC
NavSim BoatCruiser

For Mac
MacENC

We use a combination of e-charting applications running on our Macs
and PCs as well as chartplotters with Garmin and Navionics charts.

Hope this helps,

Mark
