We plan a long day today going from Marina Jack to Naples, then outside to
Boca Grande, then through Charlotte Harbor, the Miserable Mile, and up the
Caloosahatchee River to Legacy Marine.

WOOPS! Rich...have you looked at your charts? This trip as you list it is not possible! Either you go from MArina JAck's to Naples...or you go from Marina Jacks' which is in SARASOTA...to Boca Grande. The pass at Boca Grand (Gasparilla Island) is the entrance to Charlotte Harbor. Do you want to go into Charlotte Harbor? That will take you to Burnt Store Marina or if you go UP Charlotte Harbor...to Fisherman's Village MArina. The 'Miserable Mile' is the stretch east of Sanibel Island towards Cape Coral and Ft. Myers. The nickname, 'miserable mile' is appropriate...you can be ankle deep on either side of the channel and unless you watch behind you, you can easily veer off course! Try not to do this on a weekend when the idiots are out there!

I'm not sure where Legacy Marine is, it must be new since I lived down there. What is your destination? Are youplanning on the outside route or the ICW?
