Ralph, et al. I suspect everyone has now guessed, or perhaps at some point in the past I told you all, but I am a retired member of the RCMP. As such, I have seen life from both sides of the badge.
If he is abusing his power, then yes, get him off the water/road or whatever surface he is on. I have worked with members like that and they give all law enforcement a bad name.
But, it is a very common event that when someone gets a ticket, all of a sudden the cop was rude, ignorant, etc etc. So, I guess I am saying unless I have spoken to someone who has had personal contact with the member, then I take any reports with a grain of salt
There was a poster earlier today who had met him and said he was pleasant, polite, didnt force his way onto the boat etc etc. I think there may have been others here who met him as well and might have had the opposite result, but (and this will get the blood flowing) judging from their attitude on the list, they probably pushed the right buttons to end up deserving a ticket.
Anyway, I am now officially dropping this thread and going back to my scoop on poop duties.
