Many good points here. Would like to emphasize the need for a sharp probably
serrated, rust resistant knife, accessible with one hand. Jon on Valentine.

That is a great suggestion, we keep a large scabbard knife mounted in the
pilot house for that purpose.

Pat, THE WIFE came up with another good locking practice. We both use 1/2
inch lines with four foot DIAMETER eyes in them.
These are easier and faster to handle in the locks. So much easier than
using our 5/8 dock lines.
Place the eye over the bollard, floating or otherwise or around the cable in
Canadian locks.

Only a single turn is taken on the cleat on the boat so that there is no
chance of jamming.

Our experience over the last 24 yrs on this boat, as always YMMV

OH yes, in response to several inquiries a picture of our STAND OFF STYLE
FENDER BOARD is now on our web site.

We highly recommend this style fender board as they are so SIMPLE to deploy
and do not get all tangled up.
NO fenders to hassle with and to try to keep in place.
