GL: Using Fender Boards on the T-Tom and Tennessee

Just about the only time I use a fenderboard is as a part of our hurricane
preparations. And then I'm glad I have them. Our dock is fixed and we find
that the wear and tear on the fenders is much less if we use the fender board
plus we can span 6' with two fenders and a board. This is helpful when the
boat moves around during the wind shift. We hang the fenders vertically and
drop the fender board horizontally. The board rests against the piling(s) and
the fenders do their job between the hull and fender boards. Other than for
storm prep, we probably never use the boards.
