GL: Using Fender Boards on the T-Tom and Tennessee

Jim,

Fender boards are great when you want to keep your boat away from
creosote pilings. They are normally positioned horizontally and
outward from two long fenders hanging down vertically. They can be
used alone if needed, but they are not usually used in locking
situations.

The best fenders for most large long range cruisers are 10 inch by 36
inch round fenders that can be hung either vertically or horizontally
as needed. A lot of cruisers who do a lot of locking swear by the
large 24 inch round ball fenders. If you are buying new, it makes
sense to buy "BLACK" fenders or a dark color -- white are simply too
hard to keep clean and looking good.
