Ralph--
Come be a Florida resident! No state income tax and if you've owned a boat
in another state for six months there is no sales tax collected even if you
never paid sales tax on the boat. We bought our new Mainship 400 in Rhode
Island which has zero sales tax on boats kept for 6 months in RI. We moved
to Florida became residents and paid no sales tax.
