GL: Erie Canal Re-Opened

They were unable to re-float the barge but were able to move it over to the
side. They are going to bring in outside contractors to eventually raise it
completely and transport to the yard. They are now saying that will probably
happen in about two weeks. This could result in more closures so if your plans
include the central Erie canal in the next two weeks, you may want to keep
close contact with the canal folks for their schedule.
Enjoy the trip and if you have to spend a couple of days on Onieda Lake or
detour up to the Thousand Islands for a day or so, it is not a terrible
thing.

The Erie Canal is now re-opened at the site of the sunken dredge, and all
is back in operation once again.
That's the official word from Canal Corp.
