GL: Erie Canal Closures

The recovery operations for the downed airplane between Erie Locks 8 and 9 
continue and the canal remains closed there.  I would expect it will reopen 
"soon".

On the western Erie Canal near Palmyra, the canal has re-opened but may 
close again .. here's the word from the Canal Corp:

Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal between Lock 
						E-29 in Palmyra and Lock E-28B in Newark is open for 
						navigation. 
						 

Mariners are asked to proceed at a "no wake" speed in 
						areas where equipment is in the water. 
						 

Mariners are also advised that it is anticipated that 
						another canal closure in this area will be required in 
						the next 24 to 48 hours.
